A short hop that decides whether you catch your train
Southampton Central station is only about two miles from the cruise terminals, but on a turnaround morning that short distance is where passengers lose time: queues at the taxi rank, luggage to manage and a train booked for a fixed departure. A car booked for your disembarkation time takes the uncertainty out of it.
From Central you can reach London Waterloo in about 80 minutes on South Western Railway, and there are direct trains west to Bournemouth and Weymouth, east along the coast to Portsmouth and Brighton, north-west to Salisbury, Bristol and Cardiff, and CrossCountry services to Birmingham and the North.

How to connect a disembarkation to a train
Choose a train with room to spare Book a train at least 90 minutes after your planned walk-off time; two hours if you are in a later luggage group or travelling with a lot of luggage.
Tell us the train time We set the pickup from your disembarkation slot and keep an eye on the ship, so the car is waiting when you come out rather than when the timetable says you should.
Straight to the station entrance The driver drops you at the station forecourt and helps with the cases to the entrance.
If the ship is late A delayed disembarkation costs you nothing extra with us. If it puts your train at risk, tell the driver early so you can change the booking while there are still options.
Can you walk it?
On a map it looks walkable, but the terminals are inside the working port, the routes out pass busy roads and dock gates, and cruise cases make a mile feel like three. Most passengers who try it once book a car the next time.
